What 9Zoom is — the "Room OS" thesis

3.1. The foundational metaphor
Just as an operating system provides shared services (files, processes, devices) for every application to run on, 9Zoom provides the shared services of a "structured digital space" on which every kind of interactive experience is built.
A "Room" in 9Zoom is not a call:
| Criterion | A call (Zoom/Meet) | A 9Zoom Room |
|---|---|---|
| Lifecycle | Starts → ends → disappears | A persistent space that compounds over time |
| People | "Whoever is on the call" | Roles, permissions, durable membership |
| Capabilities | Fixed by the vendor | Composable modules on demand |
| Data | Ephemeral, evaporates after the call | Durable data that stays in the Room |
| Purpose | Meetings | Meet · teach · sell · events · community — one foundation |
3.2. "One Room. Any Experience."
From the same platform of components, users pick a room type as a starting template and customize it. The nine room types share the same components, roles, and modules — they differ in default arrangement, not in the underlying technology.
3.3. Why unification is the crux
When people, media, modules, and data live in one system:
- The organization gets one unified picture of its own activity.
- Users learn one way of working and reuse it for many purposes.
- Data (who attended, learned what, bought what) is not scattered across five vendors — it is the organization's own asset.
Room OS is not "a video-call app with extra features" — it is the foundation layer for building every structured digital space.
